As the chief-cook-and-bottlewasher at UltimateFatBurner.com, Paul gets all the e-mail and feedback.  Most of it’s pretty routine stuff… although once-in-a-while, he’ll get some real doozies.  He typically forwards these to me, so we can share a laugh… although there are some messages that inspire this reaction, too…

He forwarded one of these to me last night – it was a message from an alleged dot.com entrepreneur, offering to buy the site for $750K! Of course, if you think this was a legitimate, no-strings-attached offer, then there’s a bridge I’d like to sell you. As Paul put it:

I have received genuine requests, but they come from people from venture capital firms, etc – identifiable companies you can check out in depth. And none of them used BillyBob8798@yahoo.com as contact email. And none of them threw out an arbitrary number.

ROFLMAO! (note: name changed to protect the not-so-innocent)

Did “Billy Bob” even bother to check out the site before making his “offer” to Paul?   Ultimately, what we do here is test the credibility of claims made by supplement companies for their products.  We’re skeptical of claims unless they pass our tests.  If ”Billy Bob” had read even one review, he might have anticipated Paul would be skeptical of HIS claims too – and taken a pass in favor of a less savvy mark.

I wish I could say “Billy Bob” was an Army of One… but he’s not.  While the vast majority of our visitors and commenters are awesome, there are a few like him, who just don’t “get” the site’s mission or function.  Needless to state, their messages also trigger some “double facepalm” reactions. It’s obvious that – for whatever reason – these folks either:

Or my personal favorite (if that’s the right word to use)…

I dunno… amusing as some of this stuff can be… it’s also a tad frustrating to bust your a** on a resource like this, and have it all pass right over some people’s heads.  But then again, I suppose everyone who works in a public venue has similar stories… it takes all kinds to make a world, after all.
